Tired from the heat, hustle and bustle of downtown Barcelona, we decided to have lunch uptown in La Balsa. After a short ride we found ourselves literally in heaven… The place is cosy and elegant with a sort of colonial flavour due to the impressive wooden canopy surrounded by a most pleasant terrace/garden. We were greeted by a stunning red-haired smiley woman, the service was impeccable, and the food EXQUISITE, with a good variety of options (and prices) to choose from. From the delicious starters ( some of us chosed from the “Balsamico” menu) to the excellent main courses; Amazing Tuna Tartar with green apple, avocado, ginger and soja… but the Sirloin Steak, the Salmon and the Hake that the others had were equally mouthwatering. Extremely GOOD VALUE!!!. Also very interesting to see an entirely different Barcelona, far away from tourists.
